The first step in the Virtus Transfer Challenge is a 30-minute Discovery Session.
In this Discovery Session, students are welcomed into a relaxed conversation that helps us:
Understand their current skill level
Learn about their goals and interests
Introduce how the Transfer Challenge works
Students (and parents when applicable) gain a clear picture of where they stand and whether the program is a good fit.
This isn’t a lesson—it’s a chance to set goals, ask questions, and explore what’s possible with the right structure and support. The Discovery Session is complimentary and does not count toward the number of lessons included in the Challenge.

Students of any age with prior piano experience, transferring from another teacher or program. A full semester commitment (18 lessons in 5 months) is required.

Lessons are one-on-one, tailored to each student’s skill level and chosen path, to ensure focused instruction and personalized feedback.

18 lessons over 5 months, starting from your first scheduled lesson.

Students should not miss more than 3 lessons. More than this will affect eligibility for rewards and recognition.

Consistent practice at home is expected at least six days of the week. Students will be equipped with our proprietary Virtus Planner to help them measure their progress and stay on track with their goals.

Pick one challenge path at enrollment: Exam Prep or Performance Mastery. Students must commit to their chosen path for the entire duration of the challenge.

Learn 3+ exam-level pieces
Complete 50%+ of technical requirements (scales, chords, arpeggios, etudes)
Score 90%+ on an in-class sightreading test
Performance Mastery Challenge
Improve technical skills by 2 levels (teacher evaluation)
Prepare and perform 3 recital-ready pieces demonstrating musicality, skill, and stage presence

The full semester is designed to provide structured growth. Completing early is NOT allowed, as all lessons and milestones build the foundation needed for performance and exam readiness.
